Barbara Salami is the VP of Digital for Commercial at Moderna where she is accountable for the strategic vision and direction for building a world class digital experience for patients, providers and related partners in care. Prior to joining Moderna, Barbara spent 5 years at GlaxoSmithKline, where she held several roles including global head of multichannel analytics and insights and US Pharma head of digital and customer experience optimization. Prior to GSK, she worked at Shire (now Takeda), Bristol Myers Squibb, AstraZeneca and Aetna among others. During her career, she introduced, built and led several value creating capabilities including media optimization, campaign management, agile omnichannel experience delivery, customer experience design, end-to-end digital analytics and optimization platform (stack integration to insights delivery), closed loop voice of customer programs and marketing experimentation among others. She is an advocate for STEM education, gender parity and D&I (including clinical trial diversity). Barbara holds a MBA from Pennsylvania State University and a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University.
Barbara and her husband Allen have three kids. She enjoys good music, loves dancing and cooking ethnic Nigerian dishes. She also enjoys watching her “FANatic” husband watch soccer and has become a fan of FC Barcelona, PSG and Liverpool as a result.
